Certifications
Armando was born and raised in Tampa, where he graduated from Hillsborough High School. During his freshman year, he signed up for wrestling because he had wanted to be a fighter for as long as he could remember. Armando managed to place high enough to qualify for regionals and win most promising freshman of the year for his team, and received honorable mention all county honors.
After injury plagued sophomore and junior years Armando was 46-8 at 152 pounds his senior year, and was a state tournament hopeful, but was injured again.
Armando attended West Virginia Institute of Technology, where he competed in the 149/157 pound weight classes.
Currently, he is the wrestling coach at Corbett Prep and has improved the program greatly over the last few years. They had their first middle school state champion in 2018.
Extensive research led him to South Tampa Jiu-Jitsu in January 2016 because he believes it’s the best place to learn Jiu-Jitsu. Armando has trained in Jiu-Jitsu for around 3 years and is currently a blue belt. He is a great competitor and continues to grow in his ability. Armando is currently 1-0 in MMA and has won many local Jiu-Jitsu tournaments.
