RMNU South is a proud supporter of the Black Belt in Life Program (BBL)!
BBL was developed by the owner of RMNU South, Lane Andrews. Lane wanted to train martial arts at a young age but his family could not afford it. As a result, Lane had to wait until he was an adult to begin his training. His Martial Arts training has shaped his life in the most positive ways and now Lane desires to pass on this opportunity to others in-need.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is life-changing martial art that emphasizes self-defense skills, strength, joint stability, physical conditioning and healthy nutrition. The BJJ lifestyle is built on a foundation of healthy choices – physical activity and proper nutrition!
The goal of the BBL Scholarship Program is to provide underprivileged adults, teens, and children (age 5+) the opportunity to train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) for a subsidized rate.
If you or someone you know is interested in BJJ, please complete the scholarship form below, so that it can be reviewed by RMNU South Tampa. We have limited availability. Please note that completing the form below does not guarantee that you will receive the scholarship.
If accepted, you must train at least three times per month to keep your scholarship. If you do not meet this requirement for two consecutive months, your scholarship will be terminated. In addition, kids and teens must maintain a C grade point average in school. Finally, you must have a positive attitude and come ready to learn. We reserve the right to terminate the scholarship if the recipient demonstrates concerning behavior/conduct.
There are no specific criteria. We are looking to help people who have financial and/or barriers to training. We want to hear your story. Click the apply now button to complete the questionnaire.
