Fitness for the Functional Athlete

Fitness for the functional athlete classes are designed to build functional strength so it can be applied more easily to everyday life. Most conventional fitness programs rely on linear movements to build strength along a pre-determined pathway (curls or squat are examples). Our classes are designed to build a better functioning human by increasing strength, flexibility, and range of motion. The goal is to train smart, reduce pain in class, in training, and in life.

The instructor, Stevie Linton, is a well-known Jiu-Jitsu practitioner and a respected functional fitness instructor. He was featured in Gracie Magazine for his innovative approach to fitness using the Function Patterns methodology.  Stevie’s journey to functional perfection started when had a severe back injury and began exploring training that was not only smarter but that enhanced his flexibility and strength around his lower back so that he could keep training for Jiu-Jitsu competition. Through this journey he discovered the function patterns methodology!  Stevie now trains several times a day on most days and is one of the strongest most agile Jiu-Jitsu practitioners you will ever meet.

In addition to group classes, Stevie is available for private lessons. Through private lessons he has helped many people correct spinal and postural deformities that they were either with born with or have developed over time through sitting at a desk and typing on a computer. Privates are available to kids 12 and older and adults.
